As we know that human being possesses a rational nature. There is also a famous excerpt “Man plays dual role” i.e. as a creator and user. It means on one side man makes, innovates, invents, creates new things and on other hand that thing is consumed by man itself. That is the reason human being is regarded as a valuable resource on the Earth.  The continuing economic boom is propelling the growth of FMCG sector. Increasing disposable income (20 – 30 %), changing lifestyle, exposure to global media, penetration of digital connectivity, leading together willingness to spend on FMCG products. 

Sometimes it is seemed that the task is completed but still some incompleteness has remained as it is due to change in demand, taste, preference, lifestyle etc. After ending to any type of job, the next starting point is waited, for some one. Coming to the last stage of this project I really realize that still something has to do which is not covered in the short duration.  In the way of information collection regarding ‘DABUR BABOOL TOOTHPASTE’ & ‘DABUR GLUCOSE – D’ several obstacle came but successfully worked out through dedication of hard work and systematic approach. 

Scorchy & rainy days, narrow minded perception, self ego, individual nature and time shortage are some of the obstacle came into the way. But the information from wide range of areas indicates that still there are some shortcomings in the quality, sales promotion, channel of distribution hindering its market share to be increased. 

Systematic approach can reveal that in the side areas channel of distribution is not proper because of greedy and uneducated distributors. Both in ‘DABUR BABOOL TOOTHPASTE’ & ‘DABUR GLUCOSE – D’ some changes is to be done and details of that has been discussed in this project report. Involvement of every sort of sales promotional activities is required for better market share.  If proper colour combination, ingredient concentration, sales promotional activities is carried out then success can be achieved in future. Proper awareness to the consumers regarding the product is also needed. 

Thus if these above things are rectified then DABUR company can increase its revenue through increased market share. I really enjoyed my project work on ‘Dabur Babool Toothpaste and Dabur Glucose – D’ and I get lot of experience through it.

After having completion of market survey and knowing the idea, feedback, point if view of both retailers and customers having different tastes and preferences, choices a bunch of recommendation can be worked out to increase the market share of these two products or profit maximization purpose.  

DABUR BABOOL TOOTH PASTE 

  • Colour – Colour is to be changed from white to bluish white gel or light pink colour with light green strips. Most of the   people prefer light colour. 
  • Concentration  Due to presence of high concentration people hesitate in using it. According to them it doesn’t tastes sound enough and concentration of ingredient Acacica Arabica is to be reduced. Paste is to be in gel form. 
  • Packaging – More or less the packaging is well but from deep red colour to pinkish green colour with herbal surrounding can add value to it . 
  • Sales promotion There is lack of proper advertisement of Babool toothpaste in compare to other oral care products Only single add is shown by the company that is presented by Vivek Oberoi ( film star ).Offering is still going on so there is no need of free bonanza at present. Lucky draw can be a positive step in this way. Different varieties of packages such as walkman, colour T.V. motor bike, videogame etc. can be helpful .Allowing these offers can make the company getting a good market share. 

                                              DABUR GLUCOSE – D 

  • Colour   Except orange and lime colour light green colour may be preferable. 
  • Concentration – As it is an instant energy product so there is no chance of more or less concentration but there is absence of natural taste of orange in it. 
  • Taste   Mango flavour is also needed to introduce. 
  • Packaging – More or less the packaging is good , so no changes is required at present. 
  • Sales promotion A jumbo glass should be provided with ½ Kg pack and one big spoon with pack of 200 gm should be given .Some extra quantity should be added to increase the market share.
