It's an era of digitalization where, on a day-to-day basis, many necessary things like paying utility bills, house taxes, income taxes, UPI money transfers, etc. are getting accomplished with a single click. When it comes to applying for ID proofs or address proofs like Aadhar or voter ID, people used to have less clarity and lack of knowledge, leading to standing in queues by talking leaves from the office, and despite that, some times applications get rejected because of a minor error or because details are not correctly reflected after receiving IDs from respective departments.
BUT, as we know, change is the only constant thing in this world; hence, the Internet came, and government departments understood the need of the time by changing their service delivery platforms online, which helped millions of citizens. It also helped departments maintain records digitally and link one document ID with other IDs based on need; it also eliminated manual work and rectification of detail errors like incorrect name spelling, date of birth, etc. on the IDs.
Aadhar is one of the key documents that is used for identity and, primarily, school admissions. It is not feasible to take kids to the Aadhar centre, fill out forms, and then apply by submitting the filled forms, all while standing in a queue. There is also a possibility that Aadhar Centre may shut down or the server may not respond, which may also lead to a re-visit (in-convivence for kids). Now GOI brings Aadhar for kids by sitting at home, which means citizens can apply for Aadhar card without standing in queue or visiting any centre; anyone can apply the same via official websites just by clicking. Before applying for an Aadhar card for kids below 5 years, one must have a birth certificate and the Aadhar details of one of the parents ready.
Below are the steps one needs to follow while applying for Aadhar through website for their kids:
